Board Member Lori Anderson has worked in grant and project management for the last twenty years overseeing non- and for-profit programs and projects. These included implementing numerous training programs for foreign nationals; managing large, agricultural development programs in Third World countries; and more recently administrative management of activities that propel new University of Minnesota technology into start-up companies. Lori was the executive director of Prosperity Worldwide, a nonprofit charity that fostered economic development in poor countries. Lori has been involved in nonprofit volunteer work in the Twin Cities for several decades. Among her varied experiences she serves as a Master Gardener for Hennepin County Extension Service, produced on-air programming and fundraising for a Spanish/English bilingual community radio program for four years, and assisted fundraising for Kosovar refugees and Albanian orphans. Lori has been a gardener for the last thirty years, primarily of flowers, and has filled to bursting her small city lot with trees, shrubs and a rain garden. In addition to serving on Metro Blooms’ board of directors, Lori was the co-chair of Minneapolis Blooms Day 2007 and has served on its fundraising, garden evaluation and recognition, and executive committees. |
